Meeting Notice – Grid Access Charge

The grid access charge is designed to recover the cooperative’s cost associated with owning and maintaining the distribution facilities required to provide reliable electric service when the member has installed distributive generation cannot meet its own supply needs.
A hearing will be held by the board of trustees on Nov. 27, 2017 at 6 p.m. at the co-op office (1013 N 4th St., Burlington) to discuss implementing this charge on all new installations after Jan. 1, 2018. Any member-generators operating distributive generators prior to this date will be grandfathered in, and the grid access charge will be waived until such time as the member modifies the nameplate capacity of the generation.
